What exactly happened here? Is that a hat or a lacey bucket? I know the cloche was big in the twenties, but was there a top-hat version of the cloche that looked like that? A junior high school history class project? Maybe?
This is pretty much what all of the Tonner Doll's are starting to look like to me. The giant round face, the stout bodies. Deanna Denton, Tiny Kitty, Tyler, Kickits (a true abomination). What happened to my small headed pug nosed Tyler? Remember when her feet didn't turn inwards? I do.
I have several houses. This one has an American Folk Art theme. It's like American Gothic with a hard candy coating. It also reminds me of cranberry bread in the winter. And Tasha Tudor's books. I used to covet her "Doll's Christmas" book when I was 6 years old. I was in kindergarten and I remember figuring out that I could just walk out with the book in my satchel and no one would know. Yes, Tasha Tudor taught me how to steal.
This doll is lovely and thrives on camera when shot fully - not face closeups like everyone does a million times over (I know I am guilty too - see my posts below!). The facepaint is very simple - works from a distance, but is a little hard to appreciate when blown up 10x larger than life. This doll is very good at wearing Tyler Wentworth's crap line of clothing. There I said it.
I really like the bitchiness of this doll - she really looks like she would eat (and purge) my Superstar Barbie for breakfast. The lips are over the top, but it works.
A heckler is a person who shouts an uninvited comment.
The audience too usually finds the interruption an unwanted distraction; however they may sometimes find the interjection amusing or apposite.
